SUMMER MUSIC SERIES - THE OH YEAHS

Introducing the Community Summer Music Series.  One Tuesday evening a month May - September Community will host live music from some of our dear, talented friends!
There is no cover, but we hope you come to enjoy the music along with a drink and a snack or two!  Please consider making a reservation if you are interested in preferred seating closer to the performance.

We are very excited to welcome The Oh Yeahs! for the first time to Community Tavern.  ‘The Oh Yeahs,’ is an acoustic group featuring three of Chicago’s top vocalists and multi-instrumentalists: Leslie Beukelman, Allison Orobia, and Sarah Marie Young.  Each of these women has a diverse musical background, but they all have one thing in common:  they love to make music and sing together, and it shows.  ‘The Oh Yeahs’ sing and play a collection of music including original compositions and current pop hits, showcasing their signature sound of folky three-part harmonies.
Music starts at 7pm

giftLIT SALON

AN INTIMATE STORYTELLING EVENT INSPIRED BY THE GIFT THEATRE'S UPCOMING PRODUCTION!

The giftLIT salons happen several times a year at Community Tavern. A salon has historically been defined as “a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine the taste and increase the knowledge of participants through conversation.”  What does that mean to the Gift?  It means we round up a diverse group of writers and performers--some experienced, some rookies, some comedians, some poets.  We give them all the same prompt and ask them to tell their stories while we drink good wine and eat good food.  Both Community and the Gift believe that these story-sharing experiences create meaningful connections among individuals and within our community.

Please purchase tickets for this event online in order to ensure a seat.
Doors open at 8pm!

BACONFEST CHICAGO 2018

Chef Joey will be representing Community Tavern during the Saturday lunch session!

Baconfest is a fun-filled, walk-around tasting event featuring the most creative bacon dishes from the best chefs in Chicago.

"On the festival floor, the hottest chefs from the finest local restaurants prepare and serve small plates starring bacon. The best mixologists and brewers quench thirst with refreshing bacon-based and bacon-inspired cocktails and brews. Luxury brands, artisan bacon-makers, and bacontrepreneurs display, sample, and sell a multitude of local craft bacons and bacon-related products. Guests grab a Baconfest: Guide to Bacon playbill and walk around in a bacon-lover’s Nirvana.  Best of all, Baconfest is good for America. We donate a portion of proceeds from ticket sales, host raffles and organize sponsor matching donations to local food charities. Since 2009, Baconfest has raised over $400,000 enabling partners like the Greater Chicago Food depository to distribute more than 1.2 million meals to hungry people in the area.  Although we are not a 501 c3 non-profit, our charitable giving is central to our event and to our identity."

Tickets vary in price.
